About the Program

The NCIA internship is a 6-month program based at one of our key hubs in The Netherlands, Belgium or Portugal. Our internship opportunities start from either 1 March or 1 September with the start date being dependent on the timeline to secure the required security clearance to work within the NATO community. During an internship, you will join and support a diverse international team and simultaneously learn from our experts via on-the-job training, working independently on purposeful projects or initiatives during your tenure.

 

About the Internship

 

Internship duration: 6 months

 

Location: The Hague, Netherlands

 

The Chief People Office (CPO) provides a solution-oriented service ensuring strategic human capital insight is executed to enhance timely and effective decision making to achieve the overall Agency’s goals and strategy. CPO establishes and administers policies, guidance and the best practices across workforce management,  talent acquisition, talent management and staff services.

The Chief People Office (CPO) is offering a unique internship opportunity for a motivated individual to assist with key HR projects, focusing on change management, internal communication, and developing risk, audit, and quality assurance processes.  This internship will give hands-on experience in driving change, improving HR operations, and ensuring excellence within the CPO department.  

 

Key Internship Responsibilities: 

HR Projects on Change and Communication: 

·        Support Change Management Initiatives: Help implement and communicate HR transformation programs, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives.

·        Assist with Internal Communications: Contribute to the creation of internal communication materials (newsletters, presentations, etc.) to keep employees informed and engaged with HR projects.

·        Monitor and Report Progress: Track the impact of change initiatives and communications, providing reports and updates on employee engagement and feedback.

·        Employee Feedback: Assist with collecting and analyzing feedback to measure the success of HR changes and enhance future initiatives.

·        Risk, Audit, and Quality Assurance Process Setup:Assist in identifying potential risks within HR processes and support the creation of strategies to address these risks.

·        Audit Process Development: Help set up HR audit frameworks and schedules, ensuring compliance with internal standards.

·        Quality Assurance: Support the creation of quality assurance routines to maintain the high standards of HR programs and services.

·        Process Improvement: Contribute to documenting and optimizing HR processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness.

 

About you:

The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role is:

 

Measurement: 

Applies standard techniques to support the specification of measures and the collection and maintenance of data for measurement.  Generates, produces and distributes reports.  Uses measurement tools for routine analysis of data.  Identifies and implements improvements to data collection methods.

 

Organisational change management:

Follows standard techniques to investigate and analyse the size, nature and impact of changes to operational activities.  Contributes to the recommendations for change management plans and actions.  Supports implementation and engages with stakeholders under direction.

 

Portfolio, programme and project support

Assists with the compilation of portfolio, programme and project management reports.  Maintains programme and project files from supplied actual and forecast data.

 

 

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply for our internship program, you will need to meet the following criteria:

 

·        You are a national of a NATO member country

·        You are currently studying towards a university-level degree or have recently graduated in the past 12 months

·        A thorough knowledge of one of the two NATO languages, both written and spoken, is essential and some knowledge of the other is desirable. Most of the work of the NCI Agency is conducted in the English language.

·        Copy of the university degree you have completed and/or

·        Proof of ongoing studies with the dates clearly mentioned if you are still studying

The application process for an internship at NCIA is:

 

Ø  Apply via the NCIA Careers site by 23:59 CET 16th March 2025

Ø  If selected to progress to the first stage evaluation this will consist of a logic, numeracy and behavioral gamification exercises in addition to on-demand video questions aligned to the requirements of the internship

Ø  Virtual interviews will take place in the month of April

Ø  Tentative offer to be presented to successful candidates in early May

 

Compensation

Netherlands 

You will be compensated at a fixed taxable rate of 1,424.59 EUR per month, based on 38 hours of work per week and for reasonable travel expenses to start on day 1 and to return to your home location once the internship is complete.
