JOB TITLE: Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Technician
LOCATION: Pristina, Kosovo
NATO GRADE: MCIV3
The NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) is deployed in Kosovo to help maintain a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all citizens, irrespective of their ethnic origin. KFOR is part of the wider international effort to build peace and stability in the area. Headquarters KFOR (HQ KFOR) is based in Camp Film City, Pristina.
The J6 (Telecommunication) Branch provides and manages secure, reliable and redundant Communications and Information Systems (CIS) and Services including information security to support KFOR HQ executing command and control of forces assigned within the HQ structure.
CSE O&M Team acts as liaison between KFOR HQ J6 and subordinate units under COM KFOR, assists KFOR HQ J6 (as the Second Line of Support) in troubleshooting at subordinate units, makes daily service level overview of all networks in KFOR Area of Operation (AOO) to identify weaknesses for a high level of network integrity. Prepares daily SITREP in KFOR AOO and in case of any CIS outages prepares reports and send it to J6 Service Desk.
Principal duties:
· Documents and audits CIS installations in KFOR remote sites.
· Together with team members, manages physical environment of CIS infrastructure.
· Cooperate with and provide assistance to CIS support staff in installing and servicing CIS assets.
· Undertakes routine installations and de-installations of end user hardware and/or software.
· Performs troubleshooting of existing CIS support which may include network connectivity, various aspects of client systems configuration, etc.
· Performs cable patching between patch panels and switch port, labelling of existing cables.
· Provides assistance to cable team in troubleshooting cable related incidents, installing and repairing cabling.
· Assists the preparation of maintenance plans.
Other additional duties:
· May be required to deploy on operational tasks, or to undertake operational TDY assignments elsewhere.
· May be required to perform similar duties elsewhere within the organisation as directed.
· Performs other related duties as directed by Chief O&M Team.
· May be included in network and system watch-keeping shift.
The work is normally performed in a normal NATO office-working environment. Normal Working Conditions apply.
The employee may be required to perform a similar range of duties elsewhere within the organization at the same grade without there being any change to the contract. The incumbent may be required to undertake TDY assignments, both within and outside NATO boundaries.
The required qualifications are:
· English language – Candidate will be required to have a good level of speaking, reading, writing, and listening in English. Candidates who are shortlisted for the position will be administered a language test.
· College degree or two year post-secondary vocational education in Information and Communication Technology or related fields.
· Two years hands on experience in installing, managing and troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows based client systems connected to enterprise network.
· Basic knowledge in networking, familiarity of OSI model, network topologies, IP addressing.
· Familiarity with widely used Copper and Optical Fiber Cabling used in data communication and ability to distinguish the types of fiber optic cables and interface types.
· Experience on rack mounted uninterrupted power supplies.
· Related field experience in operation, administration and maintenance of digital and IP based telecommunication devices.
The desired qualifications are:
· Four year experience in Windows client operating systems, office applications, etc.
· Working knowledge of crypto material and usage of security classifications.
· Working knowledge on phone systems installation and troubleshooting
· Working knowledge on satellite communication equipment
· Knowledge about Video Tele Conferencing Equipment.
· Experience in an international organization in an IT support role
· Advanced training in information systems and data communications related subjects
· Completion of Windows Operating System Fundamentals Course

Before any appointment is confirmed, the preferred candidate will be required to obtain a NATO Security Clearance and to successfully pass a medical examination certifying fitness to work.
The successful candidate will be offered a 12-month contract, which may be renewed yearly up to a maximum period of six (6) years and subject to satisfactory performance and the continued operational need/funding for the position.

Results are planned to be communicated to the successful candidates in the week commencing 01 September 2025; test and interviews are planned to be organized on week commencing 08 September 2025. The successful candidate is expected to join the organization ASAP.
The starting salary for MCIV-3 is 5,118.00 € per month (exempt from local taxation).

· Addition amount of 12% of the basic pay paid by organization for personal pension obligations, plans, and/or schemes.
· 30 days annual leave per calendar year
· Up to 7 Special leave days
· Up to 11 days Official/National holidays.
· An installation allowance equal to one month’s salary (eligible if opting to stay outside of the camp. 50% to be reimbursed if not completing two consecutive years of service).
· A removal allowance equal to one month’s salary, after having completed at least one year of consecutive service, unless removal expenses are reimbursed by any other source.
· Travel Expenses paid to take up duty / end of tour from/to your permanent residence.
