About the job:

Based in The Hague, Netherlands you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will join the Chief Technology Office (CTO), which is the key enabler of NATO’s digital transformation. This office is a cornerstone for the NCI Agency’s work to advance NATO’s information communications technologies (ICT) that are critical to maintain NATO’s technological edge. With NCI Agency's scientists, architects and engineers, CTO is the hub for architecting and designing NATO’s ICT technical landscape while considering innovation, standardization, and coherence across the Alliance.

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Principal Architect (BMD) who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:

•    Provide advice on Ballistic Missile Defense technologies, architectures, technology roadmaps.
•    Provide architectural direction and guidance in support of technical coherence at the BMD program level and its related projects.
•    Approve designs and C4ISR solutions to ensure coherence with established criteria, operational, functional and non-functional requirements as well as approved NATO policies and directives.
•    Monitor and evaluate business data and application migration to ensure consistent, uninterrupted service provisioning to the customers.
•    Perform gap analysis and provide support to continuous C4ISR services improvements on request of the responsible NCIA business areas (Service Owners).

About you:

The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:

•    A Master’s degree at a nationally recognized/certified University in a related discipline and 5 years post-related experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 8 years post related experience.
•    Extensive experience leading the creation and review of IT services, systems, architectures and roadmaps for large organizations.
•    Extensive experience leading and monitoring the development of domain / segment, and solution architectures, ensuring consistency with specified requirements.
•    Extensive experience leading the implementation of ICT specific projects for alignment with relevant architectures and roadmaps.
•    Understanding of operational tasks in the NATO C2 structure at strategic, operational and tactical levels.
•    Knowledge of NATO Air and Missile Defense entities, capabilities, workflows and interfaces.
•    Experience with Cloud Architecting including IaaS, PaaS, Cyber Security, Cloud Service Management.
•    Knowledge in ITIL, COBIT, CISSP, or equivalent.
•    Fluency in English, both written and spoken
