POST SUMMARY
1. NISRF
NATO nations have chosen to acquire a wide area ground surveillance asset based on a High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) Remotely Piloted Vehicle (RPV). The system chosen is based on a uniquely designed RQ4-4D (Global Hawk) with the Multi-Platform Radar Technology Insertion Programme (MP-RTIP) as the primary sensor, a ground segment including deployable assets, and a supporting communications architecture dedicated to filling some of NATO'S Joint Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (JISR) needs. The Joint Staff is a structural modification established to meet strategic and operational planning needs. The workforce in these Divisions gathers and analyses information to support decision-making and optimizes resource utilization. Effective coordination and communication across the different divisions are crucial for aligning actions with the command's objectives and strategic goals.
The J2 Intelligence Division provides essential intelligence support to inform decision-making processes. By collecting, analysing, and disseminating critical information, J2 helps in identifying potential threats and opportunities. The integration of J2 into the Joint Staff structure ensures that intelligence operations are closely aligned with the strategic objectives of the command, thereby enhancing situational awareness and operational readiness.
The Intelligence Systems Support Branch enables ISR Information Management, ISR Application Management and ISR Data Management requirements. As Section Head, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the support activities of the assigned intelligence systems and relevant training requirements.
2. DUTIES
- Identifies Intel systems gaps and prepares requirements as needed.
- Functions as NATO ISR Force Intelligence system administrator and database manager.
- Provides first level support on intelligence functional area systems.
- Assists the representative in intelligence systems related meetings/conferences.
- Responsible as the INTEL-FS Trainer for the Force.
- Conducts intelligence software evaluation and functional control programme.
- Collects, co-ordinates, and analyses evaluation data on intelligence CIS.
- Researches, co-ordinates, and implements hardware and software modifications.
- Participates in User Acceptance Testing and Intel System User Groups.
- Interfaces with representatives from other NATO commands and applies the valuable lessons learned by these and similar units.
- Provides support to create and maintain exercise, training, and operational databases.
- Coordinates Intel Systems updates and management between ISR AVMC2/MOS, TGGS, MGGS, and other users throughout NATO.
Special Requirements and Additional Duties
The incumbent may be required to perform like duties elsewhere within the organisation as directed.
The incumbent is required to undertake operation deployments and/or TDY assignments both within and without NATO's boundaries.
The work is normally performed in a Operational Airbase with possible access to runways aircraft hard standing areas.
Normal Working Conditions apply.
The risk of injury is categorised as No Risk.
The incumbent reports to the Branch Head (Data Archive).
3. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Higher Secondary education and completed higher vocational training in criminology, police, public or business administration, administration of justice, criminal law, comparative general management, political theory, behavioural or social psychology or related discipline leading to a formal technical or professional certification with 3 years function related experience, or Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 5 years post related experience.
Experience with activities that encompass planning, managing, and conduct of activities to collect, analyse, process, exploit, produce, and disseminate intelligence information, including human, identity, signal, imagery, and measurement and signature intelligence.
Experience preparing intelligence assessments
Experience using and managing intelligence data handling systems
Must have an English Standard Language Proficiency level of “ professional” in Listening Speaking, and intermediate in Reading, and Writing (SLP 3322 based on NATO standards).
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
Previous relevant NATO assignment.
Relevant experience working in an international /military environment.
4. CONTRACT
The selected candidate will be offered a six-months temporary contract of employment with the possibility of further extensions depending on NISRF operational requirements.
The basic entry-level monthly salary for a NATO Grade G12 in Italy is Euro 4,599.62 which is not exempt from national taxation.
