About the job:

 

Based in Braine l'Alleud, Belgium, you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will join the NATO Digital Workplace Centre (NDWC), which is responsible for the Digital Workplace, covering operational NATO services, across all content classifications and security domains, for desktop computing, mail, instant messaging, video teleconference (VTC), content services platforms, telephony, printing and mobility services.  NDWC responsibilities also cover the support of digital events, meetings and large-scale conferences for both the Agency and NATO stakeholders.  NDWC also has the responsibility for driving the future roadmaps of these services across the NATO Enterprise to enable a NATO Digital Workplace through new services.

We are looking for a Senior Solution Engineer/Technical Lead to join the Content Platforms group within the NATO Digital Workplace Centre (NDWC) of the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency); who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a global mission supporting NATO’s digital and information management infrastructure.

As a Technical Lead, you would play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing secure content and document management solutions for NATO's consultation, collaboration, and information management systems.

Your expertise would be key in supporting projects, evolving system architecture, and ensuring service delivery meets NATO’s operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

 

·        Be the technical lead on internal and outsourced projects related to Information and Knowledge Management (IKM) tools and Content Platforms (CP) in general, from requirements elicitation, planning to execution, contributing to costs estimations, technical specs, and risk management

·        Be the Customer representative and main point of contact for the technical implementation, guaranteeing customer’s view is accounted

·        Produce Statements of Work (SoW) and Price Proposals for the project implementation.

·        Work closely with Project Manager by attending meetings, reviewing documentation and assessment on technical decisions.

·        Work with Section Heads when implementing the solutions adhering to the Agile methodology.

·        Design and evolve IKM and CP solutions, currently based on Microsoft SharePoint Server, ensuring smooth system upgrades and enhancements.

·        Actively work on incorporating new technologies and ways of working provided by cloud technology.

·        Lead software development and platform configuration, integrating vendor solutions and ensuring adherence to quality, security, and configuration standards

·        Manage release and deployment activities, plan installations, upgrades, and service transitions.

·        Manage the project transition into service in coordination with the SDMs and in accordance to stablished framework and processes.

About you:

 

The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:

 

·        A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 3 years post-related experience. Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 10 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post.

·        At least 3 years' experience designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing collaboration tools and platforms within a digital ecosystem of an organization.

·        Strong experience deploying communication and collaboration software (such as video conferencing systems, team messaging applications, and document sharing platforms).

·        Excellent problem solving skills.

·        Show excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively both orally and in writing, using tact and diplomacy, with good briefing and presentation skills.

·        Experience in leading teams.

·        Experience designing customization and configuration of Microsoft SharePoint Server (2013/2016/2019/ Subscription Edition) Server-based solutions.

·        Strong experience of troubleshooting and providing end users' support.

·        Significant knowledge and experience in Requirements elicitation, analysis and specification, methodologies and environments (e.g. Azure DevOps);

·        Significant experience in designing of Microsoft Windows-based information system architectures and implementations (e.g. Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy Objects, Databases, Clusters, Availability groups);

·        Experience in the support of price proposals, statements of work, service level agreements creation;

·        Fluency in English, both written and spoken
