About the job:
Based in The Hague, you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will join The Chief Quality Office (CQO) leads the Agency Quality approach and is the governing authority on the Agency’s Quality Management and Risk Management System.
We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Software Engineer and Principal Technician (Software) C#/ .NET who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:
Software Engineer:
-
Complex systems design, creating models, simulations, prototyping;
-
Design complex software applications in a DevSecOps manner;
-
Data modeling and design;
-
Performance optimization;
-
Maintenance of quality code;
-
Support and troubleshooting;
Principal Technician (Software)
-
Software development, integration and version control;
-
Orchestrate and implement software development activities in a DevSecOps manner;
-
Provide support for the solutions developed;
-
Performance optimization;
-
UX improvements;
-
Managing technical debt;
-
Ensuring compliance with relevant industry and NATO regulations;

About you:
The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this roles are:
Software Engineer:
-
A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience. Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCIA, that is, at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post.

Minimum of 2 years of proven experience with C#, .NET Core, .NET, Entity Framework Code First;

Entity Framework Migrations;
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
-
Attention to detail;
-
Ability to collaborate effectively with team members;
-
Passion for software and improving existing skills;
-
Familiar with Modular Monolith and service-oriented architectures;
-
Familiar with Event driven architecture;
-
Proven experience with writing queries in Microsoft T-SQL;
-
Experience with Unit Testing;
-
Proven experience with and understanding of Design Patterns and Clean Code;
-
Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD;
-
Ability to communicate with clarity, coherence, conciseness and engagement, both orally and in writing;
-
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Principal Technician (Software):
-
A minimum requirement of a higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 3 years post-related experience. Or a secondary educational qualification with 5 years post-related experience.

Minimum of 3 years of proven experience with C#, .NET Core, .NET, and Blazor;
-
Experience with writing queries in Microsoft T-SQL;
-
Experience with Unit Testing;
-
Experience with and understanding of Design Patterns and Clean Code;
-
Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript;
-
Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD;
-
Ability to communicate with clarity, coherence, conciseness and engagement, both orally and in writing;
-
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
